4th of July

4th of July

Independence Day was a busy time for baby! On Saturday, June 30th we went to Rhythm and Booms, Madison's festival of live music, F-16 fly-bys, and fireworks. Erica's sister, her kids Derek, Holly, and little Peyton, and her mom drove up for the day. We did a cookout at the apartment, with a couple friends stopping by for some food as well. Then, it was off to the park for the fireworks!

With cotton candy and sno-cones in hand, it was time for the show. The fireworks are set to music, but of course the loud explosions make it kind of pointless. Surprisingly, Xavier and Peyton slept through the whole half-hour long show, with not even a twitch.

On the 4th we packed up the car and headed up to visit his grandma and grandpa in MN. The trip went pretty well, with only a long stop in Eau Claire for food, a bottle, and a diaper change. While there there, Xavier got to visit with grandma and grandpa quite a bit, allowing Erica and I to escape to go see a movie and hang out with some local friends. Xavier also got to meet his great grandmothers, his great aunt again, and his aunts and uncles on my side of the family. To immortalize the event, here are a bunch of pictures!
