What is this "sleep" you speak of?

I feel like I should be stumbling around groaning "Braaaaaaaaaaains." Sleeping with a newborn in the house is, to put it lightly, a challenge. As they can't just walk over and whisper what they want, they use the only method of communication available to them: the scream.

Now, the scream on its own wouldn't be so bad, if it came in brief shifts and was always easily stifled with a bottle. Of course, its not. Nothing says "this is going to be a good day" then an hour long cry fest at 3am. And theres nothing quite as refreshing as a drive through the country around the same time to attempt to quiet said cry fest.

Erica is having a harder time of it then I am, as she is soldiering on and doing the night time feeding and changing while I attempt to rest up for the day's work. And, she has to deal with it all day as well. Thankfully this week the Grandmas are visiting so she'll get some relief.

His cries are, at times, amusing. For example, he gets upset when he has a messy diaper, but will get more upset if you have the audacity to try and change him. He also has a cute way of sneezing, a pair of tiny "AH CHOO's" followed by a darling little "aah ahhhhhhhh" to finish things off.

We're still looking forward to that day when he can sleep all night.
